Connect the finish schedule with the operating plan
If a new interior or expansion is being designed, identify the function of each concrete area. A workroom, customer space and stock area may have different traffic, exposure and cleaning needs. Provide the intended equipment layout before selecting one system for the entire footprint.
Name the people responsible for finish approval and construction coordination. Share any samples or appearance requirements alongside the practical use of the room. This helps define the system and boundaries without treating flooring as only a color choice near the end of the project.
Confirm substrate and site readiness
For new slabs, provide pour dates and known curing or sealing products. For existing concrete, identify old coatings and repairs. The proposed system determines the assessment and preparation required; a clean-looking surface does not establish readiness by itself.
Discuss enclosure, power, lighting and the conditions that will be maintained through application and curing. Identify work above or beside the floor that could leave debris or contamination. Agree on who provides access and protection before installation dates are set.
Review the floor before the building fills
Coordinate joints, thresholds and equipment footprints with the final drawings. Establish how samples and agreed details will be used during acceptance. Plan equipment deliveries against the system's readiness for their actual loads and moving methods.
- Finish tasks requiring bare-concrete access before coating.
- Inspect transitions and repairs before equipment hides them.
- Record product information and treatment boundaries by room.
- Give the operator return-to-use and product-specific cleaning instructions.
