Include the floor in the project decisions early
If you are adding space or fitting out an unfinished room, provide the proposed uses and equipment layout before selecting materials. Identify workrooms, customer areas and storage separately. This helps the coating discussion follow the operating requirements rather than only a general finish allowance.
Name the person who approves color and the person responsible for construction sequencing. Bring any design samples and maintenance expectations together. A coordinated decision makes it easier to define the boundaries and conditions the flooring contractor expects at handover.
Confirm slab readiness and building conditions
For new concrete, share pour dates, known curing or sealing products and any available assessment records. For existing concrete, identify old coatings and repairs. Age or appearance alone does not establish readiness; the proposed system determines the evaluation and preparation needed.
Discuss the condition of the enclosure, lighting, power and building systems during the work. Identify who maintains suitable conditions through installation and curing. If overhead work or other activities could contaminate the slab, resolve their place in the sequence before dates are confirmed.
Set acceptance before equipment delivery
Record the agreed finish, texture, preparation scope and transition details. Coordinate doorways, joints and fixed equipment footprints with the final layout. Solid color or quartz broadcast may be options to discuss, but the complete system must suit the room's actual traffic and exposure.
- Finish tasks that need bare-concrete access before coating.
- Review the surface before equipment blocks inspection.
- Confirm milestones for furniture, rolling loads and normal operation.
- Give the building operator product-specific cleaning and care information.
