Make an access plan before booking the work
For a Maize garage or storage room, clearing the floor can be a substantial part of the project. List vehicles, shelving, workbenches and stored items before agreeing on a start date. Identify what can move and anything fixed to the slab.
The estimate should make clear which areas are included and which remain outside the work. If the room is also the usual route into the house or business, explain the alternative entrance available while preparation and coating are underway.
Set the finish around the room you will put back
Think beyond an empty, freshly coated room. Once vehicles, cabinets or equipment return, the floor still needs to suit daily activity. Tell us how the space will be organized, where traffic will concentrate and what cleaning access will remain.
Flake and solid color finishes offer different visual approaches for garages and practical interiors. Surface texture and the protective topcoat should reflect use, rather than being chosen only from a photograph. Discuss spills, rolling storage and any areas likely to become wet.
Fit preparation and curing into one schedule
Fast-cure systems can be considered when limited downtime matters, but they do not remove the need to assess and prepare the concrete. Previous coatings, contamination and suitable repairs can affect the work sequence before the finish is applied.
Give us the date when the room needs to be usable and explain what usable means for you. Walking through the room, replacing shelving and parking a vehicle can require different return-to-service milestones. We discuss those expectations for the proposed system and site.
- Arrange temporary storage and vehicle parking.
- Identify who can unlock the room and approve site decisions.
- List doors, thresholds and fixed items that affect the work area.
- Allow for the agreed curing period before moving belongings back.
Include the existing floor in your first inquiry
Send approximate dimensions and describe paint, sealer, damaged spots or previous coating failure. Mention moisture concerns and how the room is used. Photos help explain the starting point, while an assessment establishes the preparation needed for a suitable coating system.
