Evaluate the room as people will use it
If desks, meeting tables or movable partitions define the space, show their normal positions and alternate layouts. Note the chairs or carts that travel across the floor. A finish should be considered with those movements and the cleaning routine, not only as an empty-room photograph.
Review samples in the actual lighting where possible. Color and gloss can look different near windows or under ceiling fixtures. Discuss texture and maintenance alongside the desired appearance; a sample cannot predict every detail.
Give transitions the same attention as the main surface
An office project may stop at carpet, tile or a corridor shared with another occupant. Identify each boundary and any existing height difference. Include door movement and circulation needs in the assessment so the final edge is intentional.
If accessibility or other building requirements affect a transition, confirm them with the responsible professional. A coating selection does not establish compliance by itself. Decide which adjacent repairs or alterations belong to the flooring scope and which require separate work before the room is handed back.
Plan furniture relocation around business activity
Explain which rooms can be emptied and whether staff or visitors need an uninterrupted route elsewhere. Computers, records and office furnishings may need different storage arrangements. Confirm who handles disconnection, moving and reinstallation rather than leaving those tasks to the day preparation begins.
- Identify furniture that cannot be moved without assistance.
- Record floor areas hidden during the first assessment.
- Schedule painting or fixture work that needs access before flooring.
- Allow for approved curing and careful furniture return before meetings resume.
Discuss care at the point of selection
Metallic resin creates a decorative appearance, while solid color offers a more uniform look where the systems are suitable. Ask how each option will be maintained with the available equipment. Follow the installed system's guidance for chair contact, furniture feet and cleaning products, and keep those instructions available when the room is rearranged.
